CCC is headed to London once again as a sponsor and participant in this year’s Researcher to Reader Conference. Researcher to Reader, an in-person event held on 21-22 February, the premier forum for discussion of the international scholarly content supply chain, looking at how the scholarly publishing community is bringing knowledge from the researcher to the reader. The conference covers key topics in the dissemination of scholarly content, with a scope that ranges from the creation of content by researchers to the point when the readers access the content, and beyond into archiving and preservation.
CCC is proud to be participating as both a Silver Sponsor and as a panelist in the day 2 session Putting Data in Data-Driven Decision Making. Taking place at 2:30 PM GMT on Wednesday, 22 February, the session will take a look at how proper application of quality data and metadata helps break down silos – whether internal/organizational or external/stakeholder.
The session will feature Dr. José Francisco Salm Junior, Professor at Santa Catarina State University – UDESC; Catia Laranjeira, Manager PTCRIS, FCT Portugal; Veronika Spinka, Senior Vice President, Science Thieme Group; Michael Healy, Executive Director, Rightsholder & International Relations CCC. In a session moderated by Christopher Kenneally, Senior Director, Marketing, CCC, panelists will discuss addressing metadata management and what industry participants see as the solution to managing metadata. The audience will gain an appreciation for how proper application of quality data can open a 360-degree-view of the research ecosystem to address important concerns of sustainability, compliance, and access.
In addition, CCC’s Charles Hemenway will participate in the conference’s Lightning Talks program with Prepare, Build, Analyze: Using Data to Drive OA Agreement Strategy. In this lightning talk, attendees will learn more about OA Agreement Intelligence, CCC’s new modeling tool that helps publishers prepare, build, and analyze their OA data so they can craft deals that work for all stakeholders.
We look forward to connecting with all this year’s attendees. You can learn more about and see the full schedule for Researcher to Reader here. Â
